HOMEMADE POTPIE

This is a favorite in my home. I usually go all out with fresh veggies but this time im going with canned.
You will need
*1-2lbs of boneless chicken breast, cubed and cooked. Its easiest to cook on stove top with about a table spoon of water.
*tube of rolls or bisquit mix
*canned carrots, peas, potatoes
*chicken broth
*1/3 cup flower
*1cup milk
In a 13x9 pan place your chicken, a drained can of sliced carrots, and cubed or sliced potatoes, and a small can of pees if desired.
Add chicken broth, about two cans, or one square carton, enough to fill the pan just over halfway. Add a cup of milk & a
1/3 of flour and mix.
Add bisquits or bisquit mix all over the top of the pan.(you can use package rolls or make your own mix)
Cook on 425 about a half hour til hot and rolls are cooked.

**lazy variation: you may also use 3-4cans canned chicken soup such as progresso in place of all ingredients. still adding flour, milk & bisquits. I find the noodles makeit more filling. **A friend of mine just informed me she tried this and it came out great, however she used half broth & half cream of chicken soup, so there's another variation for ya -thanks for sharing Jacey!

Riendeer Cupcakes

For the holiday season, i decided to make riendeer cupcakes for the kindergarten class"s holiday party. It was 11pm when i was baking and decorating, so i left out a few details like a mouth & pupils in the eyes, but i think they still came out pretty cute.
They were vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting.
A vanilla wafer was used for the mouth area.(you could make a smile with rosting)
And a sixlett chocolate candy was stuck on with frosting for the nose.
The eyes were mini marshmellows. (You can complete them with a drop of frosting or mini m&m for a pupil)
The ears were raisins, and the antlers were regular pretzelz broken in half.

Boil your pasta, drain and pour into your tin.
On medium/low heat your milk and add 3/4s of your cheese. You can use a few different cheeses such as mozzerella, parmisian, american etc. But i like to use half white and half yellow cheddar.
Once melted pour on top of your pasta nd mix. Sprinkle remaining shredded cheese on top with breadcrumbs and salt/pepper. Bake on 350 for about a half hour or until it bubbles and top is golden brown.
For a more filling meal you can add dices of chicken, ham, steak etc or veggies like brocolli or spinach, mixed into the dish..

silohette ornaments

This was a fun & easy craft for the kids, great for this time of year, and a great memorium for years to come.
You simply choose a base, I used a cardstock circle, about 4inches accross. I punched a hole in the top of the circle to hold a ribbon. If you would like something a little more sturdy you could use cardboard, wood, or foam.
I had the children decorate both sides completely. The silohettes would be glued to the front, and there name & the year written on the back center. We used crayons, but you could use markers or paint as well. However if your doing the paper version, the markers will leak to the other side.
TO MAKE THE SILOHETTES
To make the silohettes of the children, i hung up a solid blue poster board on the wall, and had marked a x on the floor linned up with the center. I then had each child stand sideways on the X while I took there pictures.
THERE ARE TWO METHODS
*The method I used, I loaded the digital prints into a paint program & filled in the entire head/shoulders of each child with black. This could be done with a paintbrush, a fill tool, or a colorchanger. Leaving the background blue, you would print them all on 4x6 and you would have your physical black sillohette to cut out and glue.
*The second method would be to print the pictures as is without editing them, and then when they print, you would cut out th head/shoulders and trace it directly onto your circle & clor it in black, or trace & cut it out of black contruction paper for glueing.
